A great course doesn’t happen accidentally…
It’s maintained. Cared for. Dialed in, every day.
At Fairview Mountain, the focus is simple. Give golfers a course that plays the way it should. Clean lies. True rolls. A layout that rewards good shots and good play.
But it doesn’t stop at the course.
From the restaurant and bar to the pro shop to the people behind the scenes, every detail is part of the experience. Even the work you don’t see — planning, organizing, keeping everything running smoothly — plays a role in the day you have here. The people behind it are what make it all come together.

Brian McDonald
I’ve had the opportunity to serve as Executive Professional and Chief Operating Officer at Fairview Mountain Golf Club since 2007, helping shape the club into one of Canada’s most respected golf facilities.
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition from both the PGA of Canada and PGA of British Columbia, but my focus has always remained the same. Creating a great experience for golfers and building a culture around people, development, and the game itself.
I’m passionate about finding ways to keep improving Fairview Mountain and helping ensure the club continues to evolve while maintaining the standards and experience that players have come to expect.

I am passionate about growing the game of golf throughout the South Okanagan. I play a leading role in developing players of all ages and skill levels through junior, ladies', mixed, and group instructional programs. As an active competitor, I regularly participate in PGA of BC and PGA of Canada tournaments while continuing to pursue educational opportunities and industry development through PGA of BC events, buying shows, and professional seminars.
I am recognized as one of Canada's leading club-fitting professionals and am among a select group of certified TaylorMade Kingdom Academy Fitters in the country. My expertise in equipment fitting and player development has made me a trusted resource for golfers seeking to maximize their performance.
Beyond my role at Fairview Mountain, I serve on the PGA of BC Board of Directors and the TaylorMade National Fitters Council, helping shape the future of the golf profession.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Art’s degree from Simon Fraser University, I worked in finance with Yorton Securities in Vancouver and Bank of Montreal in Toronto. These positions introduced me to the world of accounting and administration and I led me to obtain my CPA designation.
In the early 2000’s, I transitioned into a career in hospitality, as a part of the management team at a resort in the Canadian Rockies. This role taught me the value ofstrong management skills and leadership. In 2017, my husband and I decided to move to wine country and I started my own bookkeeping practice. In 2025, I was happy to give up my personal clients and join Fairview Mountain’s accounting department.
My hobbies include knitting, cooking and travelling and I still donate my free time to providing bookkeeping for two charitable organizations.

I began my golf career more than 20 years ago as a golf professional in Richmond, BC, before transitioning into turf management nearly a decade ago. Combining a passion for the game with a commitment to exceptional course conditions has shaped my approach ever since.
Before joining Fairview Mountain, I was part of the turf management team at Point Grey Golf Club in Vancouver, where I learned the detail, consistency, and planning required to maintain championship-calibre conditions every day.
In 2024, my family and I moved to the South Okanagan, and I joined Fairview Mountain as Assistant Superintendent before becoming Golf Course Superintendent in 2025. My focus now is simple. Provide the best possible playing conditions for every golfer who visits Fairview Mountain. From turf health and course conditions to presentation and playability, every decision is made with the player experience in mind.
Awards and national rankings are a by-product of doing things well. The real goal is ensuring every round is played on a course that looks exceptional, plays consistently, and reflects the standards Fairview Mountain is known for.

Originally from Southern Ontario, I have spent my career in hospitality, food and beverage, and guest experience. My background includes leadership roles with luxury hospitality brands, destination resorts, award-winning restaurants, and some of the South Okanagan's most respected wineries. Along the way, I earned my W.S.E.T. Sommelier certification, combining a passion for hospitality with a deep appreciation for wine and the role it plays in creating memorable experiences.
More than a decade ago, my family and I made the South Okanagan our home. Since then, I have had the privilege of working throughout the region's hospitality industry, building strong connections within the local food, wine, and tourism communities while developing a deep appreciation for what makes this area so special.
My philosophy is simple: hospitality is about turning moments into memories. Whether recommending a local wine, coordinating a special celebration, or simply ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed, I believe great service is built on authentic connections. My goal is to create experiences that guests remember long after their visit has ended.

Born and raised in Calgary, I have proudly called the Okanagan Valley home for the past decade. Throughout my culinary career, I have cooked and led teams across a diverse range of operations, including fine dining restaurants, national chains, banquet facilities, resorts, and wineries. These experiences have shaped my leadership style and broadened my understanding of hospitality at every level.
My passion for food has taken me across Europe and Asia, where I competed in international culinary competitions while drawing inspiration from the rich traditions, techniques, and flavours of the regions I visited. These experiences continue to influence my approach to cooking and menu development.
At the heart of my culinary philosophy is the belief that great food should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I focus on creating inclusive dining experiences that accommodate a wide range of dietary needs while showcasing fresh, bright, seasonal ingredients. By keeping food simple, approachable, and thoughtfully prepared, I aim to let quality ingredients speak for themselves and create memorable experiences for every guest.
